Day 1

Day 1 - Our way to the U.S.

On our way to Budapest the night was uneventful, as half of the people tried to sleep on the minibus and the other half spent their time listening to music or having fun telling jokes. After waiting for four hours in the airport in the capital of Hungary, where some people watched The Dark Knight (That's the story of Batman, the human hero) and others played on their iPads (some played "Guess the song" and others played God knows what else); then, it was finally our turn to check-in -- again, an uneventfull moment of our journey. When we got on the plane to England, things started to turn around for us. After a tormented sleep, when we were supposed to land, we couldn't because Heathrow airport is one of the biggest and busiest of Europe, and there were  five other planes which needed to land, so our pilot had to go in circles while the other planes were landing. 

We started to rush our way to the plane when we got stuck in a long queue at the last check-in point. When we were finally done with that, we heard through the radio station the final call for the San Francisco plane -- that's when we started to run like in the last few metres at the marathon. After all of this effort we managed to get there within the last seconds of the final call.

Finally on the plane! It felt amazing, yet only we knew why. The eleven hours in the air didn't matter any more. In the first hours we tried to get some sleep, but the odds were against us, so we did what everyone else did -- we watched some movies. Ana was very excited to find some comedies, as she loves them; Miriam watched Skyfall for the forth and fifth time (the forth in French and the fifth in Spanish); the boys had some fun watching Indian movies and trying to impersonate the characters; and Dana and Beatrice had spent their time discussing and having fun.

Eleven hours later, we would arrive in San Francisco. Mr. Marc went and rented a car, on which everyone, except our teachers, slept for the whole 40 miles. After checking in at the hotel and receiving our rooms we went to shop all the necessaries for the night and we headed back tot the Inn, where we would spend just one more hour talking before we went for a good sleep.

Noaptea petrecută pe drumul către Budapesta drumul a fost liniștit, deoarece jumatate dintre noi au încercat să doarmă pe microbuz iar cealaltă jumătate și-au petrecut timpul ascultând muzică sau spunând glume. După ce am așteptat timp de patru ore în aeroportul din capitala Ungariei, unde unele persoane au vizionat Cavalerul Negru (aceea este povestea  lui Batman, eroul uman) și alții s-au jucat pe IPad-urile lor (unii s-au jucat "Ghicește cântecul și celalți s-au jucat cine știe ce alte jocuri); În cele din urma a fost rândul nostru să mergem la check-in -- din nou o parte neturmentată a excursiei noastre. Când ne-am urcat pe avionul către Anglia, lucrurile au luat o întorsătură neașteptată pentru noi. După un somn chinuit, când trebuia să aterizăm, nu puteam deoarce Heathrow este unul dintre cele mai mari si congestionate aeroporturi din Europa, și mai erau alte cinci avioane care erau în așteptare de a ateriza, așadar pilotul aeronavei noastre a trebuit sa zboare în cercuri până când celelalte avioane aterizau.

Am început să ne grăbim către avionul nostru, când am rămas blocați într-o coadă lungă la ultimul punct de check-in. Când am terminat în sfârșit și cu aia, am auzit la stația radio ultima chemare pentru cursa către San Francisco -- acela a fost momentul cândam început să alergăm ca în ultimii metrii de la maraton. După tot acest efort am reușit să ajungem aolo în ultimele secunde ale ultimului apel.

În sfârșit în avion! Ne simțeam minunat, și numai noi știam de ce. Cele unsprezece ore în aer nu au mai însemnat nimic. În primele ore am încercat să dormim, dar șansele erau împotriva noastră, deci am făcut ceea ce făcea toată lumea din+mprejur  am vizionat filme. Ana a fost foarte bucuroasa să găsească comedii deoarece le iubește; Miriam a vizionat Skyfall pentru a patra și a cincea oara (a patra în franceză și a cincea șn spaniolă); băieții s-au distrat urmărind filme indiene și încercând să impersoneze personajele; iar, Dana și Beatrice  și-au petrecut timpul discutând și distrânduse.

Cu unsprezece ore mai târziu, am ajuns in San Francisco. Mr. Marc a închiriat o mașină, pe care toți, în afară de profesorii noștri, am dormit pentru urmatoarele 40 de mile. După ce ne-am înregistrat la hotel și ne-am luat în primire camerele, am mers sa cumpărăm necesarele pentru noapte și ne-am întors la hotel unde am mai petrecut doar o oră treji, înainte de a ne culca.
